Migration

Readable V1–V4 artifacts can migrate deterministically into a V5 genesis image. Migration imports sources, chunks, claims, agents, and metadata, maps legacy block identifiers to stable evidence identities, and emits a receipt with the source digest, destination root, and identity mappings.

Verify the source before migration. The same source bytes produce the same destination root. Do not treat a migration receipt as a new semantic judgment about the documents.

knolo migrate --to 4 is the pack-format migration. V5 migration is the migrateV4ToV5 API in the V5 quickstart. The Internet Computer build path still emits a legacy pack profile. See ICP.

KAR, composition, and Cortex are not produced by V4-to-V5 migration. A Committed Evidence Graph is compiled separately. A composition record cites the image after it exists.
